This book by Jeff Zahorsky, One New Homie, aims at allowing the reader to understand their true identity in God so that they can experience true freedom and be victorious in spiritual warfare. One of the main messages woven throughout this book deals with the old and new nature and, as the author shares, we need to walk in the Gospel of grace with the understanding that we have 1 nature and not 2 when we become born again. He believes we need to let go of the old so that the new can be embraced which means understanding who you are in Christ and that upon salvation it is God who determines our nature.

Author Zahorsky cautions us about dwelling on our human frailties stating “Once you are born again getting caught up in your performance and feeling condemned over your every thought shifts the focus from Jesus to you”. He shares grace and faith will be required of you in order to get your body, mind, and emotions on board with what God has done for you. His heart is to help Christians walk in true newness of life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book on transformation June 4, 2013

Jeff Z has written an excellent book on transformation from a guilty sinner to Son of God. Few problems seem to cause more trouble in people’s lives than not knowing their true identity. It makes believers vulnerable to the fiery darts of Satan’s attacks as well as open to peer pressure from non-believing “friends.” Knowing who a person is in Christ sets them free to be who God wants them to be and in fact made them to be.

This book is a must read for all young Christians. And is a valuable resource and encouragement to seasoned believers alike. I wholeheartedly recommend this book to anyone who wants to know who they are in Christ and how to live a victorious Christian life.
